Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial championship for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a former world number one, has endured a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-term coach Cervara.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court since March of the previous year.

Victory also signifies he has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one different tournaments.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my children simultaneously, so to win a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, backed up by an better service.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the final five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial professional title, took control to push for a decider.

The opponent rescued 4 early break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev broke to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he earned the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
