Iran Reports Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is not yet known and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - reported they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a number of missiles," it added.
The statement noted wreckage landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
