On Friday midday, the temperature climbed to ninety-one degrees Fahrenheit in the city center, according to the National Weather Service. This exceeds the previous daily record for this date, which was eighty-eight degrees Fahrenheit and was set in 2025.
"Very warm conditions" were noted on official charts for the region.

Authorities cautioned that Friday's heat posed an "higher threat for heat illness" for vulnerable populations. Their guidance suggested:

- Limiting outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.

Forecasters predict a cooldown is coming. Temperatures were expected to fall to around 61°F (16°C) in the city by late Friday.
Several cities that experienced ninety degrees included Woodland Hills, Long Beach, and Burbank. Meanwhile, Westwood, Camarillo, Santa Maria, and Oxnard were expected to reach the upper eighties.
For the weekend, central LA can expect temperatures in the eighties, with a further cooldown on tap for the following week.
