That Gory Animated Film Conclusion That Lingers Viewers

Out of every mature cartoon movies I have ever watched, nothing has lingered in my mind quite like the terror-laced conclusion of a viscerally violent and deeply subversive film from 2022 Unicorn Wars.

In 2015’s, the Spanish writer-director created a dark, bleak and frequently brutal universe that included several minor , forlorn hints of hope.

While The Unicorn Wars appears as it stemmed from a desire to expand animation further, the filmmaker clarified that it was actually a try to communicate a widespread, multicultural message regarding “the mutual source of all wars.”

This theme is expressed by means of a band of vividly colored bears , clearly inspired by a popular series of lovable characters.

Maturing in a society built around aggression and the war machine, a lot of these animals are consumed by exterminating unicorns, because of a holy book which states the bears they used to be rulers of the forest, before the unicorns drove them out.

Others did not entirely fallen for the indoctrination, , prefer to try out drugs and fornicate in the forest.

Unlike their friendly counterparts, these colorful critters show sexual organs , definite urges.

For one especially vicious, cynical bear, the bear named Bluey, the battle with the unicorns transforms into a path toward dominance — and especially to dominance over his more tender, more compassionate sibling the bear Tubby.

The character behaves aggressively , a seeming psychopath , and when terror takes over his unit and kills his fellow soldiers one by one, he seizes increasingly control for himself, in increasingly bloody, damaging approaches.

Simultaneously, the unicorns are suffering their own terror, as a spreading, harmful creature in their forest.

“Initially, it seems like a comedy,” the director said. “However it turns into a more dramatic and melancholic movie. And by the end, it transforms into a terrifying movie.”

Unicorn Wars begins feeling a bit like one of the most playful films from an iconic animator, that uncover a naughty glee in permitting cartoon characters swear, shoot each other, or engage sexually.

Then it turns into something more like a darker film from the same artist, with increasingly visual gore , a noticeable connection to the real suffering of conflict.

By the end, it becomes a full-on theatrical horror massacre.

The fear that turns this a perfect Halloween viewing starts much sooner than that description suggests.

The Unicorn Wars is ideal for the devoted gorehounds, for enthusiasts of graphic films who desire to see something they haven’t ever viewed until now, and are able to withstand a story that pulls unflinching brutality.

Watch it with the lights off without any distractions, and that ending will burrow into your mind and stay with you.
